ON THIS DAY IN GUNS N’ ROSES HISTORY….

@thisdayinmetal

Way back on this day October 18th 1989 Guns N’ Roses opened for the Rolling Stones at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

70,000 screaming fans watched Living Colour opened the show followed by Guns N’ Roses.

But wait.. It wasn’t that simple. Lead singer W. Axl Rose wasn’t everywhere to be found so then band manager Alan Niven asked the LA police to send two cops cars over to his place and bring him to the coliseum by any means necessary.

The band started with “It’s So Easy” the place went crazy. Unfortunately the lights were having an impact on him and he ended up falling into the photographer’s pit.

Once back on stage he grabbed the microphone and tells the band to GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER!!!

“I hate to do this onstage,” the singer announced, “but I tried every other fucking way. And unless certain people in this band get their shit together, these will be the last Guns N’ Roses shows you’ll fucking ever see.

The good news is the band finished the show and yes they did “Get their shit together” eventually and now this story goes down in the great lore that is GUNS N’ ROSES!! 🔫🌹

YESTERDAY , TODAY, EVERYDAY HEAVY METAL!! 🤘🏻👍👊
