10. TURBO (1986)
This is one of me personal favourites from the band. Yes I know, this album was the first time the band used synthesizers, but how can someone not like the catchy songs “Parental Guidance” and “Locked In”?
9. HELL BENT FOR LEATHER (1978)
Was originally called “Killing Machine” but the band had to change the name for the American market. Standout songs “Take On The World” and “Evening Star” provided fans of what was to become.
8. SAD WINGS OF DESTINY (1976)
The album has received acclaim as one of the most important albums in heavy metal history, with the album’s image and style going on to influence many later metal bands. The songs “Victim of Changes” and “The Ripper” have become fan favourites.
7. JUGULATOR (1997)
Priest’s first album with Tim “Ripper” Owens. I know some people think it’s not Judas Priest without Rob Halford but Tim took this job head on after Rob quit the band. Any man to fill those shoes and deliver such amazing vocals gets my credit. “Burn in Hell” and “Bullet Train” are Judas Priest classics!
6. REDEEMER OF SOULS (2014)
First album with guitarist Richie Faulkner. “Halls of Valhalla” and “March of the Damned” are standout songs. The album peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the band’s first top 10 album debut in the US.
5. DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH (1984)
It’s one of those albums you could play over and over again and never get bored listening to it. Best songs on the album are “Freewheel Burning”, Some Heads Are Gonna Roll”, and “Love Bites”.
4. BRITISH STEEL (1980)
In 2017, it was ranked third on Rolling Stone’s list of “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time”. Standout songs are “Living After Midnight”, “Breaking The Law”, and “United”.
3. PAINKILLER (1990)
This was the band’s first album to feature drummer Scott Travis. When Rob unleashes his screaming vocals on the title track it just sets up the whole album and it delivers. The songs “A Touch of Evil” and “Between the Hammer & the Anvil” just showcase Judas Priest at their best.
2. SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE (1982)
The song “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’” is the perfect example of the Judas Priest sound. It was without doubt the song that broke Judas Priest in America. “Electric Eye” and the title track are also fan favourites.
1. FIREPOWER (2018)
This band shows no sign of slowing down and usually band’s have a hard time coming up with new material. New guitarist Richie Faulkner has brought life and energy back into the band. Best songs on this album are the title track “Firepower” and “Lightning Strike”. The debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band’s highest-charting album in the US.
