VERSUS: The Blessed Hellride vs. Deliverance
Welcome to Versus. The series where we look at two albums in metal history, compare them to each other, and
Lindsay chats with James McBain, better known as Hellripper; “Scotland’s King of the Arcane Mosh” (- Metal Hammer). They chat about being a one man band, influences, the Scottish Alternative Music Awards and a hilariously unfortunate elevator incident at the Damnation Festival.
James says on his sound: “Black speed metal; that’s how I describe it. I’ve heard it described as Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Metal Punk, Black Thrash, whatever. I call it Speed Metal mainly because it’s fast, yeah there’s a lot of different influences.”
