Technical prowess and a barrage of speed come for you in the new two-track EP “Idiopathic Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head” from Japan’s Impending Annihilation, out on April 19, 2024, on Gore House Productions.
Opium Death is a brutal concoction of extreme metal, sent forth from the suburbs of Chicago, USA to lay waste to metalheads around the world with their first full-length album “Genocidal Nemesis”, which is being unleashed on April 19th.
Mors Principium Est: (Latin); “death is the beginning.”
If classic Melodic Death Metal with a dramatic flair for atmosphere and theatrics sounds like your idea of a good time, look no further than MorsPrincipiumEst. The Finnish quintet have returned with a slightly different vision for their 8th studio album Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity. A collection of re-recorded and reimagined favourites from their first 3 studio albums (Inhumanity, The Unborn and Liberation=Termination) even the album name itself is an amalgamation of the aforementioned record titles.
The record opens with “Cleansing Rain;” easily distinguishable by it’s marching drum beat, lightning fast riffage and impossibly soaring solos. “The Unborn” kicks it right off with an orchestral setting before descending in to catchy hooks and spiraling guitars.
“The Lust Called Knowledge” incorporates ethereal synth and heavy basslines making the track both catchy and dramatically addictive; not to mention the insanity that is the soaring guitar solos and epic, lightning-speed riffage.
“Valley of Sacrifice Part 1” goes straight for the jugular with Ville Viljanen‘s earth-shattering scream accompanied by thunderous blast beats, impossible riffage and dramatic synthy tones. Viljanen has proven to have honed his vocal ability throughout the years and possesses more rage and fevered intensity than ever before.
Both a fresh take on a timeless sound evoking nostalgia for long time fans and a brilliant introduction to the band for newcomers; either way, Mors Principium Est have demonstrated once again that their musical prowess is flawless and their production is immaculate. A drastically underrated band who deserve much more recognition and love than they receive.
