Norwegian black metal pioneers Emperor have announced a septet of tour dates in select cities across the United States that will take place in May 2025. The set for these special shows will focus on their legendary 1994 debut album, In the Nightside Eclipse, which celebrated its 30th birthday earlier this year. Prior to their 2023 run in the States to commemorate Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, Emperor had not played in the United States in fifteen years.
As if a setlist crafted around one of the best black metal releases of all time was not enough, Ihsahn and Emperor have enlisted three outstanding supporting bands for select cities. Wolves in the Throne Room will cover the first three East Coast shows in Worcester, Brooklyn, and Silver Spring. The Denver and Anaheim shows will feature Wayfarer in the opening slot. The recently reformed and resurgent Agalloch will begin the Los Angeles and San Francisco shows by performing their 2006 classic Ashes Against the Grain in its entirety. Any self-respecting fan of atmospheric black metal should be sure not to miss what are sure to be epic performances by some of the best bands to ever do it in the genre.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 6th at 10:00am local time. Local venues may also offer presale options starting Wednesday, December 4th.
