Top 10 Judas Priest Albums Ranked

10. Turbo (1986)

This is one of my personal favorites from the band. Yes, this album was the first time the band used synthesizers but how can someone not like the catchy songs 'Parental Guidance' and 'Locked In?'

9. Killing Machine/Hell Bent For Leather (1978)

This record was originally called 'Killing Machine' but the band had to change the name for the American market. Standout songs are 'Take On The World' and 'Evening Star' which gave the fans a taste of what was to come.

8. Sad Wings of Destiny (1976)

This album has received acclaim as one of the most important in Heavy Metal History, the album's image and style went on to influence many later metal bands. Stand out tracks are 'Victim of Changes' and 'The Ripper.'

7) Jugulator (1997)

This was the band's first album with Tim "Ripper" Owens. A lot of fans think that Judas Priest are not Judas Priest without Rob Halford but Tim took this job head on after Rob quit the band. Stand out tracks are 'Burn In Hell' and 'Bullet Train.'

6) Redeemer of Souls (2014)

The first album with guitarist Richie Faulkner, it peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 Chart which marked the band's first Top 10 album debut in the US. Stand out tracks are 'Halls of Valhalla' and 'March of the Damned.'

5) Defenders of the Faith (1984)

It's one of those albums that you could play over and over again and never get bored listening to it. Stand out tracks are 'Freewheel Burning,' 'Some Heads Are Gonna Roll' and 'Love Bites.'

4. British Steel (1980)

In 2017, this record was ranked third on Rolling Stone's list of '100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.' Stand out tracks are 'Living After Midnight,' 'Breaking The Law' and 'United.'

3) Painkiller (1990)

This was the band's first album to feature drummer Scott Travis. When Rob unleashes his screaming vocals on the title track, it just sets up the whole album and it certainly delivers. Stand out tracks are 'A Touch of Evil' and 'Between the Hammer & The Anvil.'

2. Screaming For Vengeance (1982)

The song 'You've Got Another Thing Comin'' is the perfect example of the Judas Priest sound. It was without any doubt the song that broke Judas Priest in America. Other stand out tracks are the title track and 'Electric Eye.'

1. Firepower (2018)

This band shows no sign of slowing down, usually bands have a hard time coming up with new material. New guitarist Richie Faulkner brought life and energy back in to the band and this record debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 Chart, making it the band's highest-charting album in the US. Stand out tracks are the title track and 'Lightning Strike.'
