Top 10 Mötley Crüe Albums Ranked

Top 10 Mötley Crüe Albums Ranked

10. New Tattoo (2000)

Every once in awhile a band has a terrible album and to me this is the one. Just couldn’t get into it no matter how hard I tried. Besides doing a cover of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”, this is the low point in the GREAT career of Mötley Crüe. Even the late Randy Castillo couldn’t do it justice which is a shame.

9. Decade of Decadence (1991)

Ok so the band has only released 9 studio albums, we decided to add this compilation album to the Top 10. Wouldn’t it be nice if the band did another studio album to make it Ten?

The album peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Charts and did produce the newly recorded song “Primal Scream” which has become a fan favourite.

8. Generation Swine (1997)

The album marks the return of lead singer Vince Neil following his last appearance on 1991’s Decade of Decadence.

I love the album cover and the album does have a few good songs. Plus it brought Vince back into the band which was much needed for the band to survive.

7. Saints of Los Angeles (2008)

It’s hard to believe this many years have gone since this album was released. I love this album. It brings the band back to the gritty days when the band first started out.

Personal favourites of mine are Mutherfucker of the Year and Down at the Whisky.

6. Girls, Girls, Girls (1987)

The album peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Charts. On the week it might have reached number 1, Whitney Houston’s second album, Whitney, debuted at the top of the charts.

I have a weakness for Power Ballads and the band had a dandy with You’re All I Need. Kinda hits home with a lot of people.

Other favourites of mine are Wild Side and Five Years Dead

5. Theatre of Pain (1985)

1985 and what a year in Heavy Metal music. Those were the times eh!! This album is still one of my favourites from the band.

The video for Home Sweet Home was totally badass. Especially when the intro comes on showing each of the band members.

Personal favourites include Smokin’ in the Boys Room and Use It or Lose It.

4. Dr. Feelgood (1989)

Ok so how many of you had this as your favourite? That being said it is one of the band’s best albums.

Kickstart My Heart just gets the blood pumping and Dr. Feelgood is a GREAT catchy tune.

Nothing was better then cruising around with the rooftop down blasting these songs just to piss the Duran Duran wannabes off.

Personal favourites She Goes Down and the title track.

3. Too Fast for Love (1981)

Nothing like the first time right? The reason you fall in love with a band and their music. The first time you hear your favourite bands music blaring out of your speakers and your parents telling you to turn that crap down.

Well this album did it for me. Songs like Public Enemy #1″ and Merry-Go-Round are the reasons I still love this band today.

And Vince’s voice when he screams Live Wire is just pure Metal magic. Remember Vince at his prime and why you fell in love with the band in the first place.

2. Mötley Crüe (1994)

Sorry Vince, love you but this album with John Corabi just totally kicks ass. If it was not named a Mötley Crüe album, the sales would’ve went through the roof. Too bad because it’s such a GREAT album from the band. Songs like Misunderstood and Hooligans Holiday are amazing. The ballad Driftaway kinda has that Guess Who feeling to it.

Personal favourites include Power to the Music and Hooligan’s Holiday.

1. Shout at the Devil (1983)

Ok so some days this might be my number 1 and other days it might not be. But which one keeps bringing me back to the reason I love Mötley Crüe? This one!!

It was the band’s breakthrough album, establishing Mötley Crüe as one of the top selling heavy metal acts of the 1980s.

Personal favourites include Looks That Kill and the title track.
