Ok so we know the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame doesn’t like having Hard Rock and Heavy Metal in the Hall but maybe this year we’ll see Mötley Crüe on the ballot.

Heavy Metal giants Judas Priest and Iron Maiden have been nominated but never got voted in.
Here’s why I think Mötley Crüe stands a chance.
First off what are the qualifications for being in the Rock Hall?
Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. They must have created music whose originality, impact and influence has changed the course of rock & roll.
So does Mötley Crüe fit that criteria?
ELIGIBILITY
The band has been eligible for the Rock Hall since 1992.
IMPACT
Mötley Crüe has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. They have also achieved seven platinum or multi-platinum certifications, nine Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart (including 1989’s Dr. Feelgood, which is Mötley Crüe’s only album to reach number one), twenty-two Top 40 mainstream rock hits, and six Top 20 pop singles.
Changing the course of Rock & Roll…
Their music changed the American and world culture. They were a huge feature on MTV and there are movies being made about the band even today, such as the re-creation of The Dirt. Motley Crue consistently did crazy things that people gawked at but admired. The young, fun and unhinged nature of the band members influenced people to be original and wild.
They influenced the United States with their “I don’t care” attitude, big hair and bizarre fashion sense that framed the culture of the eighties. The intricate guitar solos within their songs and the high pitched voice of Vince Neil gave their music a different, dark vibe that showcased their alternative nature. (Josie O’Brien)
INFLUENCE (especially on future generations)
Motley Crue was one of the most fiercely intense bands to ever exist and their music shaped the lives of thousands, if not millions, of people around the globe, including myself. Ever since that Sunday, I have been listening to Motley Crue every second I’m driving in the car, doing an assignment for school, or just hanging out. The influence of Motley Crue’s music is almost hypnotizing and they will forever be one of the greatest bands to exist.

The Hall is probably looking for softer Metal band’s instead of the Heavy ones like Priest, Maiden and Megadeth. So which band would be less heavy but still heavy enough to appease the Hall?
So what’s holding them back from being on the ballot?
The Hall is expanding it’s musical taste and less Rock acts will be inducted into the Hall. Metal band’s like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are still not in. My thought is the Hall will skip them and have Mötley Crüe on the ballot this year.
This Day in Metal’s Metalhead Marv recently asked Nikki Sixx about this.
When asked about the Rock Hall, Nikki stated “We haven’t heard anything about the Rock Hall. We are focused on The Stadium tour right now.”
