Anthrax Played First Show in 40 Years With Dan Lilker on Bass

Legendary thrash metallers Anthrax played a live show with their original bassist Dan Lilker filling in for Frank Bello. Taking place on April 13 in Mexico City, as part of the MXMF The Metal Fest, this is the first show with Lilker since his departure in 1984.

Only performing on the band's debut record "Fistful of Metal," Lilker founded Stormtroopers of Death with Scott Ian and Charlie Benante. He's also well-known for other metal bands, most notably Nuclear Assault.

The said performance is the first of ten scheduled shows where Dan will be replacing Bello. This part of the tour covers South America, as well as two shows in the US. You can check out some of the fan-filmed videos of the April 13 show in embedded players below. Obviously, Bello played songs that he didn't originally perform on, so this is definitely interesting to check out.

Upcoming Tour Dates with Dan Lilker are:

  • April 15 Cancha Diamante, San Salvador, El Salvador
  • April 17 Pepper's, San Jose, Costa Rica
  • April 19 The Metal Fest, Quito, Ecuador
  • April 21 The Metal Fest, Santiago, Chile
