BREAKING NEWS: Longtime GWAR Guitarist Leaves Band

Brent Purgason, guitarist for the legendary metal act GWAR, has quit the band on good terms according to Purgason.

Purgason announced his departure from the band on his Instagram account earlier today. The announcement is shown below.

Purgason began playing the character Pustulus Maximus in 2012. Replacing former guitarist Corey Smoot (a.k.a. Flattus Maximus in character), who tragically passed away in 2011 due to a heart attack. He would play on three GWAR albums. 2013's Battle Maximus, 2017's The Blood of Gods and 2022's The New Dark Ages. GWAR has not released a statement as of the time of this article.
