Today, Mercyful Fate announced their replacement bassist since Joey Vera left the band.
Becky Baldwin previously stepped in temporarily in the Fall of 2022 during Mercyful Fate's tour due to a scheduling conflict with Joey's longtime group Armored Saint. Becky has now been recruited as Mercyful Fate's permanent bassist.
In a statement, Becky says:
"It is a great honour to now be a permanent member of Mercyful Fate. I can't wait to join the recording of the new album. When I joined as a stand-in on the 2022 US tour, the acceptance and encouragement from the fans was exceptional. A huge thanks to the band, team and fans for the warm welcome. See you in Chile and Brazil this coming April!"
