DIMEBAG And VINNIE PAUL's Father JERRY ABBOTT Dies 5 Days Short Of His 82nd Birthday

It has been reported that Jerry Abbott, father of Pantera's Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul has passed away at the age of 81 years old. Jerry was highly instrumental in the boys' success having served as their first manager.  

He also produced the group's early albums Metal Magic (1983), Projects in the Jungle (1984), I Am the Night (1985) and Power Metal (1988), at his recording studio Pantego Sound. All of these albums were released by Metal Magic Records, a label that Jerry had created under the alias 'Jerry Eld'n.'
