A push is being made for Canadian hard rockers Helix to be inducted into both The Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame. Helix‘s line-up currently consists of long-time frontman Brian Vollmer, guitarists Chris Julke and Mark Chichkan, bassist Darryl Grayand drummer Jamie Constant (the latter who is filling in for Greg “Fritz” Hinz).

“Hi Helix fans and faithful followers! This is Kenny from INDIE TUNZ Records. We are on a mission to get Helix inducted into Canada’s Music Hall of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame! I have put together a brief overview of the Band’s accomplishments over the years along with the links to submit your request to the governing bodies. Helix is a Canadian hard rock and heavy metal band. Formed in 1974, they are best known for rock anthems “Rock You” and “Heavy Metal Love”. The original lineup was formed by drummer Bruce Arnold, and consisted of lead vocalist Brian Vollmer, guitarists Ron Watsonand Rick “Minstrel” Trembley, keyboardist Don Simmons, and bassist Keith “Bert” Zurbrigg. However, their most well known lineup, and the one that recorded “Rock You”, was the 1980s version of the band: Vollmer on vocals, accompanied by guitarists Brent “The Doctor” Doerner and Paul Hackman, bassist Daryl Gray, and drummer Greg “Fritz” Hinz.

Helix has sold in excess of 2,000,000 albums, has four gold and 2 platinum albums, has had a Number One record in the country of Sweden, has toured 19 countries, 3 continents. Helix has played with over 150 of the greatest rock and roll recording acts in the world. These include bands such as Kiss, Aerosmith, Rush, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, Whitesnake, Night Ranger, Heart, Quiet Riot, W.A.S.P., Ian Gillanand Motörhead among others. Helix still records and tours to this day. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the band. For all of these reasons and many more, Helix should be inducted into Canada’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame.
