A few days ago, the legendary guitarist and vocalist of Kiss generated diverse opinions when he published on Twitter his opinion about gender reassignment and gender ideology in children, a topic that has been the subject of constant debate in recent years.
Stanley called the issue of gender reassignment in children and young people a dangerous and sad fad, these were his statements:
"There is a BIG difference between teaching acceptance and normalizing and even encouraging participation in a lifestyle and confusing young children into questioning their sexual identity as if it were some sort of game that in some cases, is allowed by parents."
As expected, the comments of both support and rejection of the Kiss vocalist were not long in coming. Stanley later issued a statement in which he did not retract what he said, but only clarified that his wording weas not correct:
"While my thoughts were clear, my words clearly were not. Most importantly and above all, I support those who struggle with their sexual identity while enduring constant hostility and those whose path leads them to reassignment surgery. It's hard to imagine the kind of conviction one must feel to take those steps. A paragraph or two will be too short to fully convey my thoughts or views, so I'll save that for another time and place."
