OZZY OSBOURNE IS NOW IN THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME AS A SOLO ARTIST

And the winners are...

Legendary Heavy Metal singer Ozzy Osbourne will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony being held in Cleveland on October 19th.

Ozzy from working class Birmingham, England rose to prominence as the lead singer of Black Sabbath from 1968-1979 and again from 2011–2017.

Ozzy left Black Sabbath in 1979 and continued as a solo artist having released 13 albums. His latest album was "Patient Number 9" released in 2022. The album would peak on the Billboard Chart at number 3.

His most famous album was Blizzard of Ozz featuring guitarist Randy Rhoads which sold over 5 million copies.

Osbourne has sold over 100 million albums, including his solo work and Black Sabbath releases.

Hear Ozzy's reaction of getting in the hall:

In a conversation with Billboard, the Prince of Darkness admitted earning a second induction “feels big. I’m more than honored.”

“With every new music venture there’s always a certain amount of surprise that comes when you see the fans embrace it, because no one wants to make a record and have it flop,” Ozzy continued, reflecting upon his solo career. “I feel like I was invited to a party in 1980, and it hasn’t stopped. Not bad for a guy who was fired from his last band.”

The official fan vote ended on Monday, April 15 with the Dave Matthews Band coming in at No. 1. The other nominees rounding out the Top 5 were Peter Frampton, Foreigner, Ozzy Osbourne and Cher.

He's also in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath. Sabbath was inducted into the hall in 2006.
