40 Years Ago Today, QUIET RIOT Becomes the First HEAVY METAL Band in HISTORY to Top the Charts...

On This Day in Metal November 26th 1983, Quiet Riot takes over Michael Jackson's "Thriller" & The Police's "Synchronicity" to become the first Heavy Metal band to top the Billboard Chart.

The album would go on to sell over ten million copies, six million alone in the U.S.A.

The band at the time consisted of Kevin DuBrow (lead vocals), Carlos Cavazo (guitar), Rudy Sarzo (bass) and Frankie Banali (drums).
