A Deadly Threat of Thrash: An Interview with David Cabezas of Madzilla

A Deadly Threat of Thrash: An Interview with David Cabezas of Madzilla

Launched in 2018, melodic thrash metal act Madzilla have been tearing up the stage and delivering their heavy metal intensity since their debut Asphyxiating Cries in 2021. Combining the sounds of classic heavy metal acts like Metallica, Megadeth and Iron Maiden, the band has been rising and gaining attention in the music world. The band's live shows have gotten them attention as well as opening slots for bands like Saxon and Soulfly. The band's new album, A Deadly Threat, was just released this month to positive reviews.

I sat down with the band's front man and guitarist David Cabezas. We talk about the formation of the band, the band's new album A Deadly Threat, pushing himself vocally and the feeling of playing live again post-pandemic. Along with that, we tackle their tour with Go Ahead and Die, and a band they are digging that you need to check out.

I want to thank David for giving This Day in Metal the time to talk with us. Madzilla just finished touring with Go Ahead and Die and Bodybox. If you want to find out more information about the band, check out tour dates and merch, head to https://www.madzillalvband.com/ for more info.
