The first album to be released from Dream Evil in 7 years, they have certainly made sure to make a grand and explosive return. 2. Powerwolf - Wake Up The Wicked
Genre - Heavy/Power Metal
FFO - Sabaton, Iced Earth, Battle Beast, Glory Hammer
Rating - 7/10

Sonic adventures and epic, rousing attitude of grandeur, Powerwolf never fail to deliver and their new album Wake Up The Wicked is no exception. Sticking to their tried and tested formula of fantastical storytelling, addictive melodies and dramatic instrumentation with a huge, dominating vocal range. This is power metal and this is Powerwolf. It's fun, energetic and shouldn't be taken too seriously, but it's still awesome.

3. Category 7 - Category 7
Genre - Heavy/Thrash Metal
FFO - Anthrax, Quiet Riot, Armored Saint, Exodus, Overkill
Rating - 7/10

The newest super group to grace the metal world and one which has been teased relentlessly in the build-up of their self-titled debut album. Consisting of John Bush (Armored Saint, Anthrax) vocals, Phil Demmel (Vio-lence, Machine Head, Kerry King) guitar, Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall, Overkill, Flotsam & Jetsam) drums, Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob) guitar, and Jack Gibson (Exodus) bass guitar. Blending elements of thrash, power and groove metal on a foundation of traditional heavy metal, this powerhouse of a metal band have maintained their particular styles which are evident throughout but it's well balanced and expertly executed. Riffs-ahoy!

4. Metal Church - The Final Sermon (Live in Japan 2019)
Genre - Heavy/Power/Thrash Metal
FFO - Flotsam and Jetsam, Savatage, Metallica, Judas Priest
Rating - 8/10

Following the passing of the loss of their legendary vocalist Mike Howe in July 2021, Metal Church has released the live and aptly named album, The Final Sermon which was recorded in 2019 and would be the vocalist’s final performance. Not only is the production tight, it gives the impression that you're actually there when you're listening to it. The atmosphere and the electrifying energy of a live Metal Church show is well presented without losing any of the magic.

5. Wormwitch - Wormwitch
Genre - Black Metal
FFO - Celtic Frost, Darkthrone, Dödsrit, Cloak, Stormkeep, Uada
Rating - 8/10

Dark, gritty, slightly ominous and unnerving but incredibly heavy. Wormwitch have produced a savagely blistering record of black metal with a few surprises thrown in to the mix. Guitar solos, blast-beats and dissonant vocals with an overall light sprinkling of melody weave their in to your earholes and make themselves at home. This record is bleak and intense but highly addictive and crushing at the same time. There's a hidden beauty amongst the ferocious nature of this record and it's one that can easily be revisited time and time again.
