On This Day in Metal: April 20th 2002 Former Alice In Chains Frontman Layne Staley Is Found Dead

Sadly around 1:42 am Pacific time on April 20th his body was found. He was only 34 years old. In the early 1990s he publicly acknowledged an addiction to heroin.

Staley was well known for being the lead singer of Alice in Chains who had success with the albums Facelift and Dirt.
